Quality Control and Welding/Bolting Supervision

Long Island, NY 2023

Marking our pioneering role in the renewable energy frontier, Red Ironworks delivered rigorous Quality Control and Welding/Bolting Supervision for the installation of components on the landmark South Fork Wind Project, America's first commercial offshore wind farm.

About the project

At Red Ironworks, we pioneer steel solutions for the renewable energy frontier, ensuring unwavering quality in the harshest offshore environments. Our groundbreaking involvement in the South Fork Wind Project marks us as one of the first local steel contractors on America's inaugural commercial-scale offshore wind farm.

This transformative 132 MW initiative—featuring 12 state-of-the-art turbines located 35 miles east of Montauk Point—delivers clean power to 70,000 Long Island homes, slashing emissions and powering New York's green future. As a cornerstone of the U.S. offshore wind boom, the project demanded precision amid challenging seas and tight timelines.

Contracted by global leader Boskalis, we deployed expert teams offshore to provide comprehensive Quality Control and Welding/Bolting Supervision during the installation of monopiles and secondary steel structures. Our rigorous oversight—from weld inspections to bolting verifications—guaranteed structural integrity, compliance with exacting standards, and seamless integration, minimizing risks and accelerating progress in this high-stakes endeavor.

This pioneering role underscores our adaptability and expertise in emerging renewables. We're energized to support the offshore revolution and your sustainable ambitions.
